No Room for you...

I guess that's what happens when you wait and wait, and then wait some more to try and book a hotel for a busy event. That is the situation I am facing right with the Rock N Roll marathon. Even though we don't live super far away, it would take us about 2 hrs to drive there in the morning, not to mention we would have to drive up there the day before, too. I don't want to do that much driving, and I don't want Jesse to have to drive that early on the morning of his first marathon. So now I am doing a tireless search of hotels by both the finish and start lines to find something reasonably priced with availability, a bit of a struggle. Plus we have never done this race, so I don't even know where the best spots are. I know lots of others are rock n rolling, and was just wondering if any of you had any suggestions. My sister thinks she will be able to come with us to push me around, either right before or after the baby comes out, but we are so leaving the boys at home! It's a bummer not to be running, but I don't want to screw up Jesse's first marathon, I want it to be a great experience for him. Any suggestions about where to stay, or not stay, would be great.

Hrm. Assuming you looked at the places in downtown Seattle? I would look at the university district - it's out of downtown, but easy to drive to/from, esp that early in the morning, and there's decent hotels for all of the parents who come to visit their kids @ school.
