Eating my carbs and setting my goals!

Trying to start things off on the right foot, Stacie and I had our own little pasta eat up. I was too lazy to actually cook so, it was just sauce from a jar (woohoo), accompanied by her bagged salad and pre-made garlic bread. Apparently neither of us felt like cooking, but it was still good. Hopefully, it will be just the fuel I need. After filling up and watching some Kardashians, which was totally random, we went to Big 5 to get some last minute items. I think we are both so nervous it will be a miracle if we sleep at all. We only have till 3:00 am to do so, it isn't like we have all night to fall asleep.

Because this is my first tri, I have been thinking about my goals for a while, but with the injuries I have been changing them a bit. Now with this latest injury, Jesse has wanted me to drop out completely, but I refuse so in lieu of that Coach has encouraged me to make two sets of goals. One if I can do it and am sort of racing and one if I am just surviving it. If things are feeling good and only my hip is hurting then these are my goals...
  • Finish in under 1:45
  • Swim 20 min.
  • Bike 50 min
  • Run 22 min
  • Don't grab onto the boats at all.
  • Keep my transitions under 5 min for each, but take all the time I need to stretch and refuel
  • Smile
Now if I start out swimming and my sciatic starts going crazy then my mode will go into survival. Hopefully I will be able to walk, so I can finish. Then my goals become...
  • Finish
  • Bike (which hurts the least) still around 50 min
  • Smile a lot!
  • Walk as much as I need to, only crawl if I have to
  • Chat with as many people as possible
  • Don't be stupid and injure myself too bad.
Well, that's all tonight folks. Hopefully tri sugar plums will soon be dancing in my head and in about 12 hours I hope not to be puking right before my start! Wish us luck and of course we would love us some spectators if anybody is up to driving to Woodinville, WA. If not, happy thoughts and "I'm sorry I couldn't make it" bribes work too! :) Thank you all for your support! Nighty-night!
